Through mindfulness, I have been able to understand how my body and mind is intertwined and connected. I had my first stomach operation when I was 10 months old. Since then, each time I became stressed I ended up medicated in a hospital. Through mindfulness, I have been able to recognise the thoughts that were causing me to have a stress reaction and I have learnt to deal with them, without ending up medicated.
I have now completed further study in mindfulness and cancer. It is my belief that stress and our 'busy' lifestyle is causing havoc in our bodies. If we take mindful moments each day, we can cultivate a more peaceful, loving-kindness towards ourselves, thus reducing our stress and hopefully creating a more healthy life, now and for many years to come.
